Troop 28 is a perennial participant in Glencoe’s Pumpkin Day festivities at Kalk Park each October. For many years, the troop has used its Scoutcraft and rock-climbing expertise to erect and operate a “zip line.” The line is a 75-foot cable that carries young children through the air in an exciting ride across the south end of the park. The Scouts erect the zip line, check it for safety, spot the riders, and break the line down at the end of the day.
