Become a Merit Badge Counselor

Scouts can earn merit badges in 120 different areas.  Parents of Troop 28 Scouts are approved counselors for many of the most popular merit badges—but we always need more!  For most badges, world-class expertise is not required to be a good counselor.  Many of the key required badges—Family Life, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communications, Personal Fitness and Personal Management, for example—require no more than basic “grown-up” knowledge.
